Makes perfect sense to me. I can identify with some of how you are feeling and I agree - a lot of these feelings cannot be categorised by words, especially if you are pressured or anxious. It is a default mechanism of mine to shut down from the world, then I can get too disconnected. I find that prolonged and mindless surfing the net takes a toll on my state of mind. It is then that I need time to reconnect and be back in tune with my senses (usually going for a long walk) :-)
I hit on a similar problem. Every year since I started LJ, I used to delete all of my years entries on New Years Eve. These days, I keep the previous years entries, but take out the pics and then tag them as private.
The only exceptions are the tags marked Spoof, Subrosa_write, Vids, Vids 2013 and Vids 2014. Everything else from the previous years remains incognito.
Have you got a paid account or the freebie one? There is more space on a paid one and I think you can buy extra space for quite cheap.
If you ever get the time to read anything, have a look at 'The Novel Is Dead' by Will Self. Interesting - it contemplates how our ability to read and our tastes have changed since the short term gratification of social media. For some people it has eclipsed the ability to read quality texts of literary merit either modern or classics.
I would consider opening another LJ or similar PSP2 or whatever and add the people you have already got. Hows wordpress going? Someone said that they had a wordpress account but had to pay for it - no free option. We've got it free in the UK - I have more people reading my stuff over there, but less people commenting, which is a shame.
It is a brilliant nom de plume, but also most definitely his real name. link here ----> http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/may/02/will-self-novel-dead-literary-fiction
Hmm maybe time to change creative direction. Wordpress isn't great for interaction, I find. Many people hit the 'like' or 'follow' button, but won't comment. I feel like saying "talk to me, goddamnit!"
Do you see yourself predominantly an aural artist I.each writing your own work, reading and sharing others, or more visual I.e. evocative pictures and film? Most people are a mixture of both mediums but some favour one sense over another.
Maybe it is time to kick the phone/computer to the kerb and reconnect with all of your senses :-)
