I do feel so SAD... that they can't enjoy all the treasures in books for starters, in museums, paintings, oh ... the culture of life.
But oh dear, the biggest library in the world.. seems to be sitting on my coffee-table today... my shelves are all two-books-thick and have already collapsed under the weight. (I use the tall ones underneath to prop!)
Oh to have all this lovely TIME to myself to read and learn and enjoy and wonder and marvel .... and I only use the TV to play my cds. Or watch the odd educational dvd. So must put on.... erm... For Beanspam I shall put on Beethoven's romances... Bean plays them on his pianner!
I secretly do worry though, Dawkins, (The Selfish Genes,) has me really thinking -- and worrying as to which sort of survival machine will be kept going .. the Quick or the brain-dead?
When I was first on the internet (thankfully just as the ISP were becoming cheaper and cheaper, I must confess I was an 'information hound.' I still am, but it is tempered with other things.
Drones always need a leader - so the brain-dead WILL survive, but they need the Quick to keep them going. A mutually beneficial partnership, or we will die out. A worrying thought.
