And the BBC have short story comps.... 5000 wds enough to fill a quarter of an hour. They've got three of mine, but I've never heard one yet... and NO correspondence or return of scripts.

Re the Beeb, I remember my late father doing the same - one of his had a trial run through a radio workshop group, but was never aired. He was on a manual typewriter too, so doubly annoying. I reread some of his stuff recently - it was interesting. His style of writing was very like Tom Sharpe's. Maybe it needed a bit of polish, but good nevertheless.
