I would have never heard of Truro except that we avidly watch Doc Martin as often as possible. They mention it a lot there as the big city close by.

I'm puzzled by "cider" - here it is a drink made of apple juice (non-alcoholic). I've never heard of Strongbow. Oh wait - I've looked it up - there is such a thing as Strongbow hard cider.

I love comparing words and meanings all over the world. Thanks!

Cider is just alcoholic fizzy apple juice - there are many variations. Scrumpy (which will give you headache), Bulmers and of course Strongbow <---- which actually I prefer.

Truro is just a large town really - Doc Martin is shot in Port Isaac, which is more North Cornwall.
