Carwynnen Quoit - Summer Solstice 2014

DSCF0215

As I was warned it was busy, I parked significantly back from the proceedings.  Very very warm (it is not called Frying Pan Field for nothing - it is a suntrap) and I have sunburn on the underside of my neck, but lovely to be part of such a historic occasion.  This will reclaim its status alongside other famous quoits such as Lanyon Quoit and Chun Quoit. Below are the film shots I took, bit of a problem as I was running out of battery and space - hence two parts :-)

Brilliant to see this restored, it looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing the photos and videos. We spent a very wet afternoon trying to find it a few years back as my grandmother lives very close, drove around in circles and saw a live peacock, but not the Quoit. Must go back soon.

We got very hot at Stanton Drew stone circle today, car was like an oven on the way home :-(

I think that once it all goes quite, it will be lovely. Of course, it is also just around the corner from the beautiful Treslothan church. Maybe for one of your Cornwall visits in the future :-)
