Sometimes women can be their own beasts. Some women can be far harsher on themselves and other women than any man can be. Yes, men are behind a lot of the media ideals that are pushed women's way but some women lap it up and use it to destroy themselves and each other.
Maybe it is a matter of self-control on both sides? In the modern day, people have been so keen to push the envelope on taboos, that literally anything goes. So there are no surprises, no mystique and everything can be bought and sold - men and women. It is about personal responsibility as to how you conduct yourself - whether you are male or female.
OOOh your last line... makes my back creep.. but I cannot deny the horrid linger in the recesses of my thinking adult mind - Wolf does have a point.
Democracy? oh dear, it's always run by some tyrant or dictator or other! I've chickened out of thinking scared like this any more. I'm into kissing daisies just for being daisies!!!
Beauty comes from within! or it should. It doesn't matter how much botox you do and paint you put on to try to change YOU... It's the inner beautiful YOU that has to be let out from the prisons of bottles, boxes and imaginary 'goals' of so-called beauty. I can't get what modern 'women'(???) are trying to do with themselves. WHO is it who dictates what 'beauty' is? (some of these 'beautiful film stars' look right old drags with a few kids in tow! Hardly beautiful then!) But a creased old woman sitting on the Kerbside in downtown Shanghai is incredibly beautiful to the photographer.
Teehee. Trouble is you have to get to about 80 to be able cheerfully to chuck all that fancy crap away. Wrinkles - sooo? each one is an experience of life, laugh lines... mine are all over! (teehee and after I've lost weight (for my aged hips and personal comfort) I've got laugh lines on my tum!
Just keep clean and make the best of what there is... but added eyelashes at MY age??? hahaha I look AWFUL!
And to be truly honest. I had the best lunch out ever yesterday with a very VERY handsome charming man... and NEVER ONCE THOUGHT ABOUT HOW I LOOKED!!! We - communicated with 'the invisible' affection and caring. What a joyous personal freedom that was for both of us I think!
I love the old ladies in that vid - damned attractive old birds!!! and I bet they'd be fun to be with!!!
Yes, yes to all that you said - my best photos from China, were in Shanghai; three older people in Tibetan dress and a 97 year old lady who was one of the last foot-bound women in China. When she smiled, she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I appreciate beauty of both sexes, but I really appreciate 'character' faces. So much more interesting, especially to photograph.
I have no problem with wearing make up or dressing attractively, but when I mean attractively, I mean with decorum. Besides, I'm a bit too long in the tooth to play the coquette - if I ever did lol :-)
