A Palestinian woman collects fired tear gas canisters & grows flowers in them.

palestine bomb garden

Her curious garden, photographed today, is in the village of Bilin, near the West Bank city of Ramallah,
the de facto capital of the State of Palestine.

Much of the territory is disputed. Israel continues to expand settlements in the West Bank which the
international community have long ago ruled to be illegal.

Clear Cut Depopulation Leads to Innovative Gardening... They are planted in the used tear gas canisters fired by Israeli soldiers during
demonstrations against the occupation. Israel says barrier is needed to protect civilians, but critics say it masks an attempt to illegally

THIS MADE ME HOWL!!!! HOWL as in wolves....

What a human this woman is. Growing flowers in the deaths of war.

I will not start on how I feel about Palestine being beaten from the face of the earth. I would just ask the Israelis

"When did your God actually GIVE YOU PERMISSION to take back the land he threw you out of?"

I understand how you feel. I was just stunned into silence as to how this woman was taking the symbol of negativity and trying to change it into something positive. Whether it is an act of defiance or an act of love, the love for the earth and creation remains the same :-)
