Goodbye Sick-Amour Trees :-(

I filmed this almost 2 years ago and even though everything was in place to fell them, we idn't have the time or the cash to do it.  Alas, tomorrow the trees come down - basically because they are too dangerous to keep up.  I hate destroying trees.  I said goodbye to them tonight and told them that I would rehouse their baby trees elswhere (I have a couple of sapling babies in pots).  Gutted - won't watch them come down.  I am hoping to plant some twisted hazel at some point, but tomorrow is a sad day.

I also hate to cut down trees. Right now I have two small trees that I have to cut down because they are killing the older trees next to them-what can we do but plant more trees-peace

The garden originally was part of another plot of land. The old lady who used to own it planted loads of quick growing trees as she wanted to have woods in her large garden. Consequently, there were over 20 trees in quite a limited space.

We are prone to gales in Cornwall and we have neighbours that surround us, so it is for the bebest, really.

Here where we live Holland Michigan there are thousands of trees and flowers. Holland is known as tree city. But when we have a bad storm old trees are blown over and fall on houses, cars and block roads/knock down power lines etc. . . I love all the trees, but they are be dangerous when they fall.

hope it all goes smoothly. It's really windy here today so wouldn't be a good day to do it here.

It was quite windy here, but it is done now. Sad, but I think the remaining trees and the rest of the garden will thrive now.

I will find homes for the saplings, meanwhile I will let the ground recover and maybe plant some twisted hazel :-)
