That's rather what I like about it. I was much louder in my previous online social existence. Now I get to tell pen friends, "Don't apologise for being what is called 'mundane', please. Be as mundane as possible." ^_^
I very rarely post on here. I use it primarily when LiveJournal is down. Some of the LJ community are here, but they post infrequently, too. Yet, I like this format, in some ways better than, say, WordPress. On there, you write something and a couple might hit the 'Yay' button, but no-one stops to talk. At least on here, you can yell into the void and someone might come back.
I had a bit of a nose through your profile and was thrilled to see both 'The Addams Family' and The Birthday Massacre (<--- the latter is a late discovery for me - love them) on your list. I too, love spooky stuff and am a keen writer (mostly non-smut AO3 stuff).
Aye. I think I might post here too much. It's funny, I found this site when I looked into LJ once more and then I saw there were like-buttons. Shuddering, I wished for an alternative, then somewhere on LJ dreamwidth was mentioned. What is dreamwidth? Then I looked and saw how simple the format was, no "likes" and just about leaped for utter joy. (I hear you on WP, though. I had to learn how to remove the like-button there. Very relieving!)
Glad to make your acquaintance, too. Pardon that my past is littered with angst, but that's why I was so happy to find calmer choices. And the joy that is The Birthday Massacre. We're music junkies out here so it doesn't end there, but that there band has a magic. I am rather fond of non-smut, too. ^_^
