Integrative Literary Study - The Abstract

I am trying to write an Abstract (or to you and I, a summary of the contents of an essay/book etc.) and trying to find a way through it.  It is 10% of my overall mark and I am just over half way (203/400 words) covering the barest bones of it.  The reading list that I have to make notes on/study is impressively long, hence the reason for geting the contents page out of the way.  Primarily, it is Perrault, the Brothers Grimm and Angela Carter, with Bronte/Rhys, Marquis de Sade and Jeanette Winterson thrown in.
