War Databases Research - Going Slow

I have begun the essay, but It is mostly framework stuff. 206 words - over 20%, but I am reading through the account of the the ambulance trains and the affects of specific gas warfare.  There are two accounts of the war trains - I really wanted some from the beginning and end of the war, or from two opposing factions.  Right now I am done for the night.

Picture is unrelated - just reminds me of home.

Dear Rosie, I just can't follow you on the First World War... I read twenty huge encyclopaedic volumes of The Great War.. with pics and everything in, when I was confined to my attic bed with rheumatic fever when I was about ten or so... and it made SUCH an impression on me I just can't cope with all that horror, stupidity, venality, ... geeeeez I don't know how you can do work on it. I break my heart..

I was at an age when a lot of my older 'humans' around were mostly dried up old ladies who had lost their loves one way or another in that dreadful war. It hurts me far more than the WWII.. which was just a war... and as stupid and wasteful as always.

Bless you, and good luck and strength to your elbow and soul... such sodding tragedy! HUGS!!!!!

I originally did NOT want to do the 'War Writing Since 1914' module, but chose it instead of Jane Austen. Regardless of her talent, I am not a fan either of the time period or bonnets and beaus (pardon the pun). The war module was the only alternative. Saying that, I have enjoyed the module more than I expected.

I haven't wandered down for a while. I will probably do so when the toe has completely healed.
