Central Track

Rare quiet moment between trains - don't ever listen to the automated announcement as it is very wrong.  Will tell you that there are no trains due, but not that they won't go whizzing past.  As this is a branch line with a one way track, I am perfectly safe, but I have to still keep quiet, listen to the lines and wait for the train to pass.

I just love the symmetry of it :-)

I was going to post Portishead 'Roads' but it sounded a bit worrying and NSFW

I envy you the train, probably just cause I will never have the chance to take one around here. I suppose they could be boring or frustrating if they were something you had to do everyday. I like your photos.

/\ If THAT doesn't explain perspective, nothing ever will. GORGEOUS.. and so STRAIGHT! /\

We had a line near one of our houses in the war, and I played there often. Being a lonely child, I found sympathy with lonely stones on the stretchers... so if there was one, I'd pick it up and ask it if it wanted to join the others... sometimes they even had parties with flowers and leaves... !!

Thank you for the picture... oh MY line... Crumbs, memories can hurt!

I used to love walking along the railroad tracks as a kid. It was peaceful, especially since the train no longer ran.
