Rare quiet moment between trains - don't ever listen to the automated announcement as it is very wrong.  Will tell you that there are no trains due, but not that they won't go whizzing past.  As this is a branch line with a one way track, I am perfectly safe, but I have to still keep quiet, listen to the lines and wait for the train to pass.

I just love the symmetry of it :-)

Lots of walking today, first around Kehelland, then down on my local beach.  Seeing many thinks from fresh perspectives. More photos HERE

Took my new phone (Sony Xperia X) for a walk, along the Saltings where I live and to the Dynamite Quay.  It was exceptionally windy, but with stunning blue skies.  Generally pleased - resulting with some pictures in the autumn sunlight.

Yesterday, I went to Mevagissey with my sister - was a bit overcast, but it remained dry.  More pix HERE

I love this time of year, cold and clear with a hint of the start of better weather.  Such bright light and interesting shadows.  The trees are starting to sprout leaves and the migratory birds are slowly making their way back - the birdsong enriching the estuary soundscape.   The river tide is well in and although it is still comparatively freezing, the mercury is at least making an effort.

I have been most fortunate in finding a place that organises arty/crafty days. Yesterday, I made a victorian box and for a first go, it actually came out looking pretty ok.  I have my eye set on a rag rug making day and a scrap journalling day too.  I have come to a stage where I am fed up being squashed flat by academia and since there is only one assignment due re the module before I finish the half year.  Taking up arty/crafty stuff is just an excellent way for me to unwind, plus it gives me ideas for script/novel ideas too.

I have taken the week off uni as I haven't been so well.  Hopefully, this will be sorted out when I have some hospital tests in December.  I had a message from my former lecturer asking me if I had any photos of Porthleven.  I hadn't, but decided that I hadn't been out to take some photos for a while.  I headed down there today and it is dark, raw and cold, not to mention windy.  It is the sublime in nature at it's fullest extent.  I needed to get away from my work for a while and get some fresh air in any case.

Sometimes, you need a different perspective. Anyway, the bulk of my photos are HERE

The estimable Jackie Harding has been published again by the Cornish Story Website and I am pleased to see that my photos are being used once again :-)

Just as my news re second place in the annals of history, I was emailed this link by my lecturer JH, who has been writing for Cornish Story, which is an online publication that promotes ' a greater knowledge of Cornwall and the Cornish Diaspora overseas.' She has written an interesting article and her involvement seems to be ongoing.  She has used my photos with my permission and I am pleased to see my contribution to the section.

Today I took a hint then my car to a car wash.  To others it may seem grubby, but to me it is the preverbial sieve - hence the reason why it is not washed often.  I have managed to patch up most leakages, but found to my cost where the car is leaking again.  I am too broke to get another second hand car and she is at least road-worthy.

I bought some art gear for my film project,m then ventured out to St Buryan and Sancreed.  I visited the church then the iron age site Carn Euny

St Buryan Church Pix are HERE and Carn Euny Pix are HERE

* with apologies to Looloo - [livejournal.com profile] bluegerl - LJ was playing up a bit yesterday, wouldn't post my stuff to start off with *

I went to Looe and Polperro yesterday.  I haven't been for over fifteen years, think I dragged my youngest there when he was five years old.  It was a beautiful day and I came away with a fistful of photos and a load of fudge.  Walked for miles, did me a world of good.
