Post-it Note
Note to self ::: re Psychoanalytical - read up about the 'pleasure principal'; re Marxist - try to find a more simplistic definition or structure to work from (I appreciate that the latter might just be impossible).

Re: biography
When my youngest became an adult, I went back to college and started a fast-track course for adults (subjects included basic Maths, English, English Literature, Psychology, Ethics and basic IT/PC skills) to get into higher education. It turns out that I was really successful and I was awarded a placement on an English degree course. The first two years are in a college, the last year is at Plymouth University.
I am at the end of my first year - right now I am in the midst of turning round my assignments. The current one is reading a text through two specific literary theory. I chose Aldous Huxley's Brave New World and one half of the essay is 1,000 words Psychoanalytical, the other 1,000 words Marxist. Next one is Jane Eyre - Feminist Theory.
When I get the degree, I really want to look into either publishing or writing for a living. There maybe a possibility in regards to teaching, but we'll see - if I did, it would be adult education.
I write this log (I call it 'The Grindstone Files), because I use it as a timeline of progression - it also keeps me driving on to do this as it can be a tough. Especially as I am a mature student in my forties.
I am enjoying it though and am pleased as to what I have achieved so far :-)
