No, I didn't know about the Merry Maidens one. In theory, I don't mind turbines, they are definitely easier on the eye than say, pylons. I think people forget that pylons were considered an eyesore for generations, but now we do used to them,we don't see them anymore. I suppose people get upset about turbines because they move and therefore are quite distracting.
I suppose it would make sense to have turbines around Penwith as it is one of the windiest places in the British Isles - not that I would want that. I was quite surprised to see a lot of solar panels in what were farmer's fields. I would far prefer that than more and more houses being built.
