41) If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
Ironic, since we are one day past the end of the world. Bearing in mind I see my immediate family quite often, it would have to be my sister and my niece. In fact, back in February, when I had become seriously ill, I really DID think it was 'End of Days' - personally. Who did I visit? My sister and niece - we took some photos near mine workings on a bright sunny day. I couldn't life her up, but I could play some music for her on my ipod. It was Jarre's Oxygene VI. Everytime I listen to it now, it just makes me feel so grateful to be alive :-)

Hidden Place
Nov. 29th, 2012 11:29 amI bought 'Vespertine' on CD about 11 years ago and played it to death that Christmas. I find I am listening to it a lot at the moment. I first listened to 'Hidden Place' and was hypnotised by the beat. The acapella of the Greenland Ladies Choir (1:42) is so beautiful, it gives me shivers - almost like it articulates what I find difficult to say :-)
Back in the late nineties, I listened to all of her first three albums on heavy rotation - drawing and listening to music, always a favourite combination. I did a pen and ink one of Bjork from a b/w photo on her Debut album. I lost the pic somewhere in the house and now is listed as missing, presumed destroyed (which is annoying as it did look actually like her).
'Bachelorette' is quite soaring, almost symphonic and after listening to 'Hunter' or 'Unravel,' it was quite a dynamic piece of music to listen to. This video has the albums original artwork by the late Alexander McQueen, as I think the original Michel Gondry video sucks (shame, because I liked the one Gondry did for Bjork's 'Isobel')
~*~*~ To The Shore ~*~*~
Aug. 21st, 2012 02:42 pmOh when your nine day feed is up
And you've drained your loving cup
Come stands reeling to the shore
When the brave are coming out
The dry fight and the dusty shout
See you crawling on the floor
And diamond stars shining glitter bright
Gorging your sanhedralites
Words are falling to the floor
Glad stand pouring fruit trees
And now they glisten on the waterline
Sing home you are at the shore
I'm moving crissie pretty flowers in the shuttermaze
Haul up all your petty desires
Leave them lying down they fall
Wash away the rusty disease
Of your brown town days in our silver sea
Leave it dying at the door
Feather yellow your time to leave
Open out your arms and breathe
Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to the shore now
Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to the shore now
And you've drained your loving cup
Come stands reeling to the shore
When the brave are coming out
The dry fight and the dusty shout
See you crawling on the floor
And diamond stars shining glitter bright

Summer's Here
Jul. 25th, 2012 11:12 pmTen days ago, I was complaining about the continual deluge of water we were receiving in the UK. Now it feels like the temperature has been cranked up to gas mark 5 in comparison. It was 25.6 c (78.08 f) in the back garden today. Last week, I was worried about a load of my plants rotting as the soil had become waterlogged; now I am concerned because they have now dried out and are wilting in the heat. This evening we have had fog and, as I have a ringing headache - I HAVE wondered if we are due for a storm.
Still, it's doing wonders for my tea roses and I am hoping that we even might get some decorating done this weekend. Prodigal 1 may repoint the porch roof as hubby paints it and Prodigal 2 hopes to sort his room out, so that can be filled and painted too. I think I may escape to the beach for a while...
Gotta love Groove Armada - this came out in '99, I think - it was on heavy rotation on MTV and I played this during the eclipse of the same year. Not sure where they shot the video, but it reminds me of home :-)

Your Love Is A Deserter
May. 15th, 2012 04:42 pmOne eye in the sun, one eye in the night
Sleep tight, sleepwalk like honey, honey
When you want me, you got me where you want me again
Say it again!
If it's personal, say it again!
Crossed wires, sparking a little
Start a house fire with us in the middle
It's alright!
Oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh!
Oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh!
Sleep tight, sleepwalk like honey, honey
When you want me, you got me where you want me again
