My father did the same, I was 11 years old when I first watched it. I must admit to being a bit of a 'Prisoner' nerd. My absolute favourite one was 'The Girl who was Death.' I also liked 'A,B and C,' 'The General' and 'Dance of the Dead.'
Reading your recent entries, I am not surprised re the book interest. I am fascinated by the psychology of all of these worlds. I read 1984 when I was 16 and have always had a copy of it on my shelf. I am a relative late comer to Huxley, though it could be argued that his book maybe more relevant to today's world and the sense that people are sleep-walking into bottled babies and legal highs.
Whatever - they are incredible writers and as I have said, if I get a chance to do Utopia/Dystopia as my third year dissertation, I will jump at the chance :-)
