Yesterday we watched Vertigo, the famous Hitchcock movie. It has been hailed as 'The Best Movie of All Time', which has had modern day movie critics arguing the case that there are better films from the present day.  It is interesting to experience Hitchcock as the 'auteur' and it could be argued that his wife Alma had a lot to do with this too. Vertigo itself is quite an amazing film, but I think it is about how the film has been a conduit for other people, specifically film producers like Truffaut and Tarantino.

I hesitate to write too much about Hitchcock's preference of blondes as leading ladies, the obsessional qualities of his leading men or the voyeuristic content of all of his films, but he cuts an interesting (if expansive) figure.
