I am not a big watcher of Doctor Who; I only tend to warm to them when I have caught the repeats on SKY years later when the Doctor in that series has long gone.  Ecclestone wasn't too bad - leather clad and a bit shouty, but cool.  Tennant was cute but was a bit too skinny.  Matt Smith - I have only just got used to him.  My ears pricked up when I heard that Peter Capaldi had been chosen for the new doctor.  I remember him from Chandler & Co back in the nineties and obviously he has been in higher profile role such as The Thick of It and a even a minor role in the Vicar of Dibley.

Capaldi (above) seems to scrub up pretty well and promises that he will be "100% Rebel Time Lord."  Steven Moffat has quoted that he is the "New Doctor - New Era and of course new clothes.  Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you." Interesting - DM's will be back in fashion and at a retailers near you :-)

I finished my children's story today.  I had a wonderful text from my sister that reads as follows: K (my niece) said before bed last night [that] she wanted to write a book as well. I said "What about?" and she said "Seagulls - like R (me = calico_pye) is."  You have made an impression :-)

She just came out with it, bless her little heart. If a proud auntie could go "Squeeee!" now is the time.  It doesn't matter if my story is good or not, it's the fact that K (aged 4) wants to write her own storybook.
