Looking back at the great blur of the last twenty-four hours, no man could say where was the emotional centre of it, any more than he could locate the heart of a cloud.

Yes - he was amazing and he portrays India, the Indians and the Anglo Indians in fairly balanced light. I read it back in August, have recently covered it in class. I now have to knock out an essay - a biggie, too (2,000 - 3,000). Discuss E.M. Forster's portrayal of India in 'A Passage to India'

It's clear that I will have to sit and reread the book again - possibly with the film adaptation so I can get the feel of the book again :-)
