Yesterday, I went to Kehelland Apple Festival, with my sister and niece - which was quite nice.  Displays of the trust's home-grown apples (as one would expect) and other vegetables, plus face painting, little craft stalls, fairground and traction engine rides.  Some lovely music from the local choir and folk music bands and finally some birds of prey - a beady-eyed buzzard and Chunk, the Eagle Owl (pictured below).

He was beautiful - my niece was invited to stroke his tail feathers. The buzzard was amazing too - I only ever see them high up on lampposts or above bypasses circling with their mates.

What a gorgeous creature!

Did you get to taste or buy any apples, or was it displays only?

There were fruit and veggies for sale, many lovely stalls with wood, silver and wood craft. Sustainable living - even had a home made brick oven.

I would have posted more pix, but they had my niece in them and
I have to respect my sister's privacy.

great photo

what a fabulous bird! Sounds like a lovely event, we went to a similar one last sunday but with ferrets and farm animals rather than birds of prey

It was lovely actually - bit diappointed that I didn't see apples in piess/crumbles/strudels but it was nice to walk around in the early autumn fresh air. My favourite part was the birds and the brick oven - latter used to make bread and/or cook pizza :-)
