Bonfire Night 2015

This virtual bonfire is the closest thing I will see to Bonfire Night, as I am stapled to a seat with 26 hours to spare before submission.  The weather is forecast to be crap in any case.  I will probably see the one at our local pub on Saturday, even if I have another deadline looming.

Do they still have 'the Guy'? on top, or sat in doorways and 'Aa penny for the Guy?' I spec all the youngsters today have NO idea of the fun we used to have stuffing straw down clothes and making a cardboard face and a sorta witchy hat on top... "Penny for the Guy Lady?"

I don't suppose they're even taught about him?

The tradition is live and well - people aren't so interested in hawking a straw body around, but they make plenty for the bonfires. I know there is one place in Britain who makes an effort to construct a guy who represents the years Most Hated Person - so many politicians and Jimmy Saville have been burnt in the name of bonfire night. I think it has been reignited (pardon the pun) because of the film 'V for Vendetta'

Aw, I missed out on the bonfire this year too, rain and other stuff took over. Plenty of fireworks were set off though and your virtual flames are ace.

Corrected the advent problem. I am subscribed to Unicorn Wizard Tribe and Zen Unicorn, that share the most lovely gifs - as I find them on FB, I share them :-)
