22. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends? Why?
A mixture of the two.  I seemingly know loads of people but have only a few close friends.  I think it is better that way, you will spread yourself too thin, otherwise.

Since I've been on LJ I think I've ended up with a very few closest (live, here,)friends, a whole load of 'online' close friends, and then the acquaintances.

And one does need close buddies for the important bits - but occasionally the online chums are good for having absorbent shoulders.
