24. What’s a strange occurrence you’ve experienced but have never (or rarely) shared with anyone?

That although I am not scared of birds, I have my fair share of bird problems.  I was concussed by a seagull once - it had a pasty over it's face at the time and couldn't see where it was going.  I liken it to being hit by a roast chicken (or what I would imagine it would feel like).  Then there was the time I was attacked by some nectar birds in our local bird sanctuary.  They were hungry and I was the first one in the feeding pen, with a measure of nectar.  They all dived at me so fast, I put my hands up to shield myself and the force of the birds hitting my hands, knocked the nectar over my head.  So you can imagine what happened next - my head was stripped of nectar as I was trying to fend them off.  P2 and my mother did what any family member would do and just stood there and laughed at me.

That's quite alarming. I stood face to face with a large goose at Trago Mills when I was the same height as one (not sure why, but there was a peacock and geesse in the car park that day) which has put me off them. Once you've read Daphne Du Maurier's story you never look at them the same again, do you?

When I was a teenager, my friend Mandy and I were down on the Saltings, where an angry swan chased her up the beach. That was terrifying!
