The Panama Papers (Alleged)

Well, well - take a look at this beauty.  What you see before you are the occuaptions of the people in the 'Panama Papers' leak.  Yesterday saw actress Emma Watson lambasted by some of the snottiest newspapers, for purchasing property as a beneficiary of a company in the Virgin Islands.

I don't really care what EW has been up to - take a look at the REAL culprits.  This is all seemingly legitimate, but the stats are making these offshore multi millionaires look even more shifty than normal.  Ironic too, that in the last couple of days David Cameron (whose party is currently being investigated for election fraud) is part of the new quote 'Anti-corruption Summit'

Obviously these two things are not related - but Call Me Dave must not be oblivious to the hypocracy that is going on within his own leadership, the government and British politics at large.

The UK Government is RIDDLED with cheating and corruption. Look at the fiddles going on in the House of Commons... everything is subsidised and they've got so many 'perks' I'm surprised we ever see anyone at all on those green benches. (Except the lower fourth with the Prefect has spent all week thinking up spiteful WITTIES to hurl at the poor bullied Corbyn).

I can think of Official car expenses, second homes, secretaries, researchers (hah!) and jobs for the boys when they've been found out lying to the Police and offering bribes to NOT be prosecuted! Two of em! and Swords of Truth and Shields of Honour or some such crap!
(And Parkinson NEVER paid for or acknowledged his bastard child (handicapped as well poor wee girl) even when lambasted for it by the horrified public)

At least here in France we do have snooping Douanes who LOVE spying on the accounts of politicians and business managers... they're so au fait with their accounts. The Tax Man Reigneth here! I have poked around trying to find a truly French company who is doing offshore stuff... it appears there are a few French-allied companies but the major shareholders are from ... guess where. USA, AFRICA AND UK! (The Chinese keep their fiddles to themselves!)

Call me Dave has such a tough hide I can't cope with how he is so able to just blithely IGNORE how we really feel about him. I just can't.... he is so.... FOUL!!!!

I suppose it has always gone on, but now it is so much more transparent.

Someone pm'ed me saying that I didn't know how the money/politics system works. Dude - I do. I have a Hubby, who is in senior accounts, several friends who are from banking backgrounds etc. I know how it works re money making money and how the rancid economic eco system goes round. Doesn't mean that I like it, nor do I like the idea that as the electorate, I am meant to lie down and submit to what our leaders tell us. It's OUR money, given to YOU, in order for our society to run.

Don't tell me you are cutting back or doing me a favour. Don't talk to me about benefit fraud. More importantly, I didn't vote for you and seemingly, neither did 65% of the British Isles - yet YOU have wormed your way in and tell me how you are going to ruin lives in incremental stages and tell people who are less fortunate that they are scroungers and just lack motivation.

Sorry Mr Cameron - a healthy 'fuck you' from the far south west UK (yeah, and I haven't forgotten the 'pasty tax' either, you mean fucker).

At least thank GOD ours do seem to use a lot more propriety, morality? and decency... and get caught if they don't!!! Every one of our Premiers goes through the fine tooth Mill... grinding and grinding slowly but surely... but nothing more than having two invisible staff (paid) for Chirac...let off with smacked wrist and Sarkozy is being done over day in day out... but he is so far - CLEAN... even spotless!

Oh well. I can't even vote on the INOUT lark... I've been discommunicated from the UK. Can't even GO BACK as a resident unless I can prove I have enough money and have a place to live already! Not like immigrant Lizzie... no benefits, no council housing or bnb in hotels even.. no health care! Just DIY Lizzie! Been out for too long!

I should've said Hubby WAS in senior accounts, but downsized,.doing bookkeeping for a long time. It whittled down to nothing since he was ill. He hasn't got the soul of an accountant, though - can't stand the expected life style and politics that go with it.

He is firmly in the 'Brexit' camp - I am not so sure. Before I make a decision, I want to hear from sources like the London School of Economics, not fatcats with vested interests, Barack Obama, or even Bjorn from ABBA - who have recently stepped up to the pro Europe plate.. I want to hear from people in the know, but it is unlikely I will hear a balanced argument that is both informed and unbiased,

We will see - P2 is not so sure either. His main concern is that people will vote as to whether it will stuff Cameron or not - rather than whether it would be a good choice.

It's gonna be a long ole walk to June 23rd, that's for sure :-/

What ever they say its all GUESSWORK anyway... no one KNOWS what could happen next week. Poo Jin Laow could do sommat daft on Friday... or another Lehmanns could happen... or Trump could be President WE JUST DON'T KNOW anything for certain so... tis - well - follow what feels best to us.

I don't really care, as I'll just have to hope that the pound stays reasonably settled as it buggers up me pension... otherwise the darling French Government look after me and I shall naturalize if I need to! Means an awful lot of name-changing and paperwork which is why I haven't done so already!

Fair enough - hope the pound does stay stable. I know a few ex pats who are a bit worried now, both in Spain.

Thing is, regardless of info, I have seen what being in the EU is like and it stinks to high heaven. It worked for us a bit in the eighties but since then, not a lot.
