First day of summer - wherever it is. In its place, we have a rehash of February, except that it is several degrees warmer, so it is close and clammy. It is meant to be good for the grass, fruit trees and the roses; it is also good for the ivy, hogweed, bindweed and any other little knotty b*****d that sows itself into my lawn as soon as my back is turned.
