Photo - Tia Latham-Jones

Due to a series of cock ups, I left my camera behind, but pinched this photo from the net.  It is a smaller, but more intimate festival than Mazey Day.  It was blazingly hot and spent some of my time nursing my foot in what available shade there was in the middle of St Just, but a good day was had by all.  I think it has more street performers and I really miss that from our original Mazey Day.  Golowan Festival tends to have many stalls and elaborate carnivals, but the essential fun of the acrobatic and circus feel that it used to have has gone.  They have rocked up in St Just instead :-)

sounds fun, glad you were able to go despite the foot.

It was quite relaxed, but busy. Foot isn't so bad today - things are improving now I am practically living in trainers (which I hate, but is at least sorting the problem out ).

Looks like you at least had some good weather for it!

Right now, I am melting 15c (59f) during the night and rising to 24c (75f) during the day. Alas, my front room is south facing and it rose to a frying 28c (82f) as I forgot to shut the curtains.

As a soggy cold Brit, it is a shock to have sunny weather!

And you have the humidity to deal with, too. We don't usually have much in the way of that here, which is why we can handle the warmer temps. We are in fact celebrating today because it has 'cooled' to a high of 85 today. After a week of 95 - 103, we are happy.

It is the humidity that's the problem. A friend of mine moved to Spain and said that having a comparatively dry 35c (95f) was far easier to deal with than a muggy damp 24c (75f). Pollen count is up through the roof, too :-(

Ick for the pollen and the humidity. We have a saying here. If you don't have allergies before you move to the Central Valley, you will before the year is up. Blah...
