Just spent 7 hours in the Emergency Room with a friend who had signs of heart problems. It's not a place you want to be at 3am in the morning, when the only people out are police, taxis, pissheads and loonies. The latter two were also in the emergency sector - one rocking and crying, tother yanking his cannula out, leaving gore over the loo. Another guy left his bloody footprints over the corridor -staff panicking over whose job it was if they couldn't find a cleaner. Detritus everywhere. Not the fault of the hospital - more the fact that they are cash-strapped and starved of time. Friend was at end of tether but managed to get test results back and checked herself out
Members of the public can be a scary lot at times. Thankfully, I zoned out and she slept for a lot of it. Now back in bed, hoping to catch some zees before starlight becomes daylight.
