I haven't been to this place since about 1998 (think Prodigal 2 was about five at the time) and I was pleasently surprised how nice it was.  Took Prodigal 1 and his daughter, both had never been before (P1 was a sulky teen when I went last, so he hadn't joined us on that occasion).  Brisk walk on an autumn day - what could've been nicer?

You can see wild seals on Seal Island, near St Ives - but it is only available by boat and choppy as hell at the best of times. We don't usually see British otters here - the ones I saw were Asian otters, in a cage and they were so cute! Called Apricot and Harris, bless their litte vicious claws (they can take a man's finger off at a snap - animal reporter Terry Nutkins famously had some digits missing c/o his time with otters).
