It is my little art projects that keep me sane, I think - even if I just wind up writing something creative.  I would so like to produce an artifact like I had to for Hamlet last year, alas not on the syllabus.

Definition of Verisimilitude

In a literary work, verisimilitude is likeness to the truth i.e. resemblance of a fictitious work to the real event even if it is a far-fetched one.

Verisimilitude ensures that even a fantasy must be rooted in the reality which means that events should be fantastic to the extent that readers consider them credible enough to be able to relate them somehow to their experiences of the real life.

And I thought it was a form of pasta :-)

I must admit to having strange dreams at the moment, one of them being in an open-topped sixties aquamarine-coloured car (think it was a Nissan, but will wait til the vintage car season opens again and I will take a closer look).  I was also at a gathering at a manor house (a Colonialist dream home, all set with balustrades and Capability Brown gardens), where I met some friends, one of whom fell in the ornamental pond.  Again, it was another sixties setting, not sure why I am on a retro kick at the moment (I blame it on watching The Ipcress File a couple of days ago).  All I know is that I felt really at peace in these dreams, a real sense of freedom.

I'm sure that Freud would have a field day :-)
