People have critised this video and think it has been rigged - I am not so sure.  They have definitely been known to catch fire, especially if the breaks have not been applied.  I have emailed it to a friend of ours, whose view has been obliterated by one such windmill - he saw the funny side of it, regardless as to whether it was rigged or not.

did you see that there's a plan to build great big wind turbine next to the Merry Maidens? I don't mind wind turbines in general, but there do seem to be a lot of plans to put more of them around West Penwith.

No, I didn't know about the Merry Maidens one. In theory, I don't mind turbines, they are definitely easier on the eye than say, pylons. I think people forget that pylons were considered an eyesore for generations, but now we do used to them,we don't see them anymore. I suppose people get upset about turbines because they move and therefore are quite distracting.

I suppose it would make sense to have turbines around Penwith as it is one of the windiest places in the British Isles - not that I would want that. I was quite surprised to see a lot of solar panels in what were farmer's fields. I would far prefer that than more and more houses being built.
