I love this time of year, cold and clear with a hint of the start of better weather.  Such bright light and interesting shadows.  The trees are starting to sprout leaves and the migratory birds are slowly making their way back - the birdsong enriching the estuary soundscape.   The river tide is well in and although it is still comparatively freezing, the mercury is at least making an effort.

I have been most fortunate in finding a place that organises arty/crafty days. Yesterday, I made a victorian box and for a first go, it actually came out looking pretty ok.  I have my eye set on a rag rug making day and a scrap journalling day too.  I have come to a stage where I am fed up being squashed flat by academia and since there is only one assignment due re the module before I finish the half year.  Taking up arty/crafty stuff is just an excellent way for me to unwind, plus it gives me ideas for script/novel ideas too.

I like the second tall one of the signpost patch - it shows the shadows on the road more.. Amazing how GROWN the ditches are... soon be Queen Anne's lace!

and the box - that is enchanting! all the decorations yourself and all? Do they tell you what to bring? or have the a sort of ragbag of bits and pieces to delve into?

Rag-rugging is super if you've lots of torn tights!! they make super rugs! (or old silk scarves and stuff... tis MAGIC fun!)

I like the second one too - for the same reason. We tend to leave the ditches alone, very rustic 'ere, my dear.

They provide the stuff for you. You print your sides onto card, decorate how you see fit and then glue it together comme ça. Ribbon and a lot of fiddly bit - then tada! You have a box. With the rag rugs, the stuff is provided for you. Looking forward to that :-)

Oh, your box is lovely and I love the last shot of the lake. It looks likes it still a little cold there, though.

Thank you - its between 7-8c out there (approx 44-46f), so it's not too bad, but a bit cold in the wind (and yesterday was a bit blowy).

Brr, that's way cold to me. It's all what you are used to, though.

Thank you - the weather was lovely yesterday, weather's been damp and miserable today. It was really nice to do something a little different - the box was fun to do, looking forward to the next class.
