31. What’s your reaction towards people who are outspoken about their beliefs? What conditions cause you to dislike or, conversely, enjoy talking with them?

People are entitled to their own belief system - in saying that, if they try to impose their views onto me, they would possibly get a short shrift.  Generally, I don't like sweeping statements or judgments from anyone.  Alas, that is how the human race is run.

30. Do you have a catchphrase?

"To catch a fish, first you have to think like a fish" - nicked that from Northern Exposure.  God, how I miss that programme.

29. What’s one thing you’d rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why?

Right now, it is for someone else to finish my degree - I've done the groundwork....

28. Where’s your favourite place to take an out-of-town guest?

St Ives as it is practically rude not to.

27. Do you prefer that people shoot straight with you or temper their words? Why?
Tell me the truth, but temper your words.  I had a 'shoot straight' mother who took delight in turning what she deemed honesty into a blood sport.  You can say the same thing but be kind.

GIF unrelated, just made me smile.

26. What’s something that amazes you?
Without meaning to go on a leftie rant - how the hell did these clowns get into government?

25. What do you think about more than anything else?
Truthfully? How I look forward to writing for pleasure, not a deadline and how I can go back to arts and crafts and create something I am proud of :-)

24. What’s a strange occurrence you’ve experienced but have never (or rarely) shared with anyone?

That although I am not scared of birds, I have my fair share of bird problems.  I was concussed by a seagull once - it had a pasty over it's face at the time and couldn't see where it was going.  I liken it to being hit by a roast chicken (or what I would imagine it would feel like).  Then there was the time I was attacked by some nectar birds in our local bird sanctuary.  They were hungry and I was the first one in the feeding pen, with a measure of nectar.  They all dived at me so fast, I put my hands up to shield myself and the force of the birds hitting my hands, knocked the nectar over my head.  So you can imagine what happened next - my head was stripped of nectar as I was trying to fend them off.  P2 and my mother did what any family member would do and just stood there and laughed at me.

23. Are you more inclined to “build your own empire” or unleash the potential of others?

I would say inspire others, because I was in a job that needed to cajole others (mainly kids) to work.  I think we are in a group now, which very 'Can we fix it?/Yes, we can!' kinda attitude.  I also like brainstorming with like-minded people - there is nothing like the buzz of creative thinkers.

22. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends? Why?
A mixture of the two.  I seemingly know loads of people but have only a few close friends.  I think it is better that way, you will spread yourself too thin, otherwise.

21. When was the last time you really pushed yourself to your physical limits?

Not for a while, but I would argue that Uni is testing me across all levels - Physical Emotional, Mental and Spiritual.  Although the Uni isn't far from the station, most of it is uphill, plus many lectures are on the top floor of a big building.  That and I have been seriously rethinking my path.  Two hours is a nightmare and I am getting really resentful that I am not spending any quality time with family, let alone friends.  I knew this when I took the mantle, but I want out.  I owe it to myself to see it through, but I feel stretched too far.

20. Are you high maintenance? Explain.

Not in the conventional sense.  I am not a clothes horse, not bothered with the latest 'in thing', lived in a damp cottage that needs a LOT of work.  I like to keep warm, for people to remember my birthday and I like to have matching socks - does that count?

19. Are you a creature of habit? Explain.

I can be very set in my ways (or should I say congealed?).  If I don't start my work before 1.30, I will have a real problem getting any work done.  Now and again, I will kick over the applecart and do something very different.  it is a very healthy thing to do.

18. What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will?

Being a hermit - I would like to socialise a bit more, but then run in the opposite direction.  I need to party!!!

17. What was the most recent compliment you’ve received and savoured?

That someone thought I was a genius - not true, but cheered me up no end :-)

16. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on?

With my close family, I will engage head on.  With friends and outside family members, I avoid it.  Many times I have seethed and people have known it, but I tend to walk away or even drop out of existance. Yup - better to extricate myself totally, than let it get the better of me.

15. Which animals scare you most? Why?
Not over fond of rats. Mice are fine, even bats (I once found a bat in an outbuilding.  It was asleep, bless).  It's probably because we get water rats in the attics of the cottages in my row and they are heavy-footed, not particularly friendly rats.

14. How often do you read the newspaper? Which paper? Which sections?

The Guardian but by mobile app - would take me too long to read the broadsheet.  I read all except the sport section.

Day 13 - Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know?

Probably Hubby, but we are both bit like that - get a kick out of being generous for the sake of it.  Now that makes us sound like over-bearing goody-goodies, but I swear that we are as gnarly and cranky as anyone else.  Plus, never have a tariff running - do it out of the goodness of your heart and don't look back :-)

12. What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?

Chocolate - though I go through phases of not eating it.  Used to have a pash for Malteasers, then Twirl - right now it's Rolos.  The inner child gets fractious when I am studying, or on a train or just plain living. It has to be appeased with something.
